Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:
• Tabled dispersing yearly budgeted donations to several nonprofit organizations due to not having received all the paperwork and final review.
• After a public hearing, denied a request to open Cherry Alley.
• Approved a sketch plan of record for combining lots and eliminating a parcel for J & A Properties (Werner Eyes of the Valley at Walnutport).
• Approved a quote in the amount of $1,590 to replace the CEO/streets computer.
• Agreed to advertise for adoption a speed limit ordinance that would reduce the speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph on all borough streets.
• Tabled the street opening ordinance.
• Announced that Jonathan Kenyon is the new treasurer of the Walnutport Authority, as Rica Cook resigned her position. The authority now has a vacant seat on its board.
• Approved Taser certification for police officer Scott Ledo at a cost of $895.
• Agreed to close escrow accounts for SKA Holdings, also known as Lehigh Gap Seamless Gutter; Mid-Atlantic Review, also known as Main Street Twins; and Univ Rel LLC II.
• Granted permission to the D & L to place RaceFest signs at the kiosk at the locktender’s house and by the boat launch parking lot.
