Sixteen eighth grade pupils were graduated yesterday from St. Mary’s of the Assumption School, Coaldale, during a Mass in the parish church.

The Rev. James Carr, pastor, was the celebrant of the Mass and presented diplomas to the following:

Robert Ames, Joseph Dougherty, John Earley, James Gould, Robert MacDonald, Robert Marasiak, Robert Sandri, William Urban, Julia Caldwell, Carol Daubenspeck, Michele Fisher, Mary Gildea, Ellen Godanis, Kathleen Haldeman, Carol Sicenavage and Rose Marie Watkins.

The St. Mary’’s Holy Name Society award to the boy with the highest scholastic average went to Dougherty while the Women;s Guild to the girl with the highest average was shared by Haldeman and Godanis.
