American flags line both sides of Route 93 through Beaver Meadows, as the nation commemorates the adoption of its flag today, Flag Day. Flag Day, celebrated annually on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the official flag of the United States by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777. It’s a day to honor the American flag and its symbolism. The Summit Hill American Legion Post 316 will host a flag retirement ceremony and dignified disposal of unserviceable flags today at the Legion Post.
