Woman injured in ATV crash

A woman was injured after the ATV she was on crashed while riding on private property in Nesquehoning Thursday evening.

According to John McArdle, Nesquehoning Hose Company fire chief, a call for the crash came in at 4:57 p.m. It was reported two ATV riders had been riding at the Fourth Hollow Reservoir, which is owned by Nesquehoning Water Authority, when the vehicle crashed. It was noted that the area was posted no trespassing.

The three Nesquehoning fire departments, as well as Jim Thorpe fire company, Lehighton Ambulance and Nesquehoning police responded.

A 23-year-old woman, who was the ATV rider, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for injuries.

McArdle said both riders were from out of the area.
