Lansford man face charges in burglary, threats case

A Lansford man faces multiple charges after he and two others attempted to enter a home to fight with a resident before being chased off with knife.

Jamil L. Parker III, 29, of East Bertsch Street, was arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats and harassment before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz, Jim Thorpe, who set bail at $100,000.

Parker was remanded to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning, unable to post bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for June 11.

According to court papers, Parker along with another man and a juvenile went to a residence on Cortright Street and attempted to gain entry. The men were yelling for the resident to come out to fight them.

The men were warned to leave the property and enclosed porch, but they continued to try to enter the property, court papers said.

The victim told police that he finally chased the trio from the property with a knife.

Police obtained footage from a neighbor’s security camera, which showed the three men fleeing from the porch and the victim chasing them up Cortright Street.
