Police report the following traffic stops.
• A traffic stop made by state police at the Lehighton barracks at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23 resulted in police recovering drug paraphernalia from inside the vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Kitty Lane and Vixen Drive, Lehighton, and found drug paraphernalia on a search of the vehicle.
• A Massachusetts driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence after state police found her parked along Interstate 81 on Oct. 9.
State police at Frackville said a trooper on patrol noticed a 2006 Ford Freestar parked along the berm of Interstate 81 in Ryan Township around 9:45 a.m. As per regulations, the trooper stopped to see if the vehicle was disabled. Lisa Dicicco, 37, of Lowell, was in the vehicle and the trooper also smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Dicicco confessed to using and possessing marijuana and related drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest for DUI and drug possession charges. She was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post bail.
• Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Oct. 8 end ended up arresting a passenger in the vehicle.
Police said the passenger had a loaded firearm on his hip and also did not have a concealed permit to carry.
The firearm was seized, police said, but did not release the suspect’s name.
• A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence.
State police at Stroudsburg said Jorge Valentin, 35, of Mount Pocono, was observed at the Delaware Water Gap toll booths operating a 2007 Honda CRV with no inspection sticker. A traffic stop was made and Valentin was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and also in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
