Former Buck’s store to house medical equipment

A former archery store in Franklin Township will have new life breathed into it.

Township supervisors on a 2-0 vote recently granted conditional approval to the Indian Hill Road land development and lot consolidation plan.

The board’s approval is pending the completion of the comments from the outside agencies and the engineer’s final approval.

Supervisor Leroy Kemmerer Jr. was absent.

The proposed land development at the property at 47 Indian Hill Road, the former Buck’s Sporting Goods, was reviewed last month by the Carbon County Planning Commission.

Indian Hill Property’s proposed land development/lot combination plan calls for combining two tax parcels into one 1.21-acre lot, and then converting an existing property from a mixed use of retail and multifamily residences to a business office and medical equipment location.

The building will eventually house Lab-Machines, which is currently located at 450 Interchange Road. According to the company’s website, the business specializes in field service and repair, system installation and relocation, preventive maintenance, custom automation solutions and customer training.

The planning commission’s comments were forwarded to Franklin Township for inclusion in further discussion on the project.
