June 2, 1962 — Palmerton opens its Lehigh Valley Legion season with a 6-4 victory over Fountain Hill. Joe Visnosky leads the way for the winners, finishing 2-for-5 with a run and three RBIs. Bobby Gelatko gains the pitching win, allowing just four hits while tossing eight innings. Palmerton, which takes the lead with a four-run third inning, also receives a hit and two runs from Ray Carazo while Gelatko helps his own cause with a hit and a run. Frank Bydlon also chips in with a hit and a run.
