For the third consecutive year, James McConnell will be the grand marshal of the Tamaqua Memorial Day Parade.

McConnell is a veteran of World War I.

The Tamaqua United Veterans Association will host the event, as well as the program which this year is being held in memory of Lucian W. Nicholls, past commander of VFW Post 1091, Tamaqua.

The speaker will be Schuylkill County Sheriff Paul Sheers of Coaldale, while an address will also be given by Wanda Heisler, the B.P.W. Girl of the Year.

Nicholas J. Young will be the master of ceremonies and the Rev. Russell Funk will offer the invocation and benediction.
