The Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008 Veterans and First Responders Memorial Garden will be officially opened Thursday.

A ceremony takes place rain or shine at 4 p.m. at the garden, located on the east end of town, next to the Nesquehoning Hose Company. Parking is available in the fire company parking lot.

There will be guest speakers, as well as a demonstration on the native plant garden that was created in conjunction with Penn State Master Gardeners and the Panther Valley Blueprint Community.
