At least one person was injured Monday afternoon in a crash along Route 209 in Towamensing Township. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in front of the Towamensing township fire company involving two sport utility vehicles.

One female occupant was treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital. Fire companies from Towamensing and Polk townships responded to the scene.

Area fire police maintained traffic control at the site shutting down the roadway. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
