Crusaders For a Cause holds carnival in Palmerton this weekend

The 19th annual Crusaders For a Cause spring carnival will be held Thursday through Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park.

It will run from 6-10 p.m. Thursday; 5-11 p.m. Friday; 4-11 p.m. Saturday; and 2-7 p.m. Sunday.

The carnival will consist of a wide variety of exciting activities, food and entertainment.

Food vendors will be comprised of Dale’s Concessions; Parryville Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 with Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes; Island Expressions with a variety of smoothies and snacks; Christina’s Reptile & Animal Sanctuary with tacos and taco salads; and Caribbean Noodles, which also has vegan options.

There will be live entertainment every night in the bandstand in the park. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as the park benches fill up quickly.

The entertainment lineup is as follows: 6-9 p.m. Thursday, The Dynamic Duo, Dave and Brenda Rehrig; 7-9 p.m. Friday, Hall of Fame Roy Orbison tribute artist Terry Harris; 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Elvis Presley tribute artist Jeff Krick Sr.; and 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Roadhouse, which will perform classic rock, blues and funk.

Rides are provided by AEB Amusements, with wristband days on both Thursday and Sunday.

There is also a silent auction by Blue Mountain Animal Rescue Society; pictures with Apollo the alligator for a small donation at Christina’s Reptile & Animal Sanctuary’s tent, a variety of craft vendors and other goodies.

Christina Obrecht, president of Crusaders For a Cause, said proceeds from the event benefit local charities.

Obrecht said anyone looking for fun, good food, rides, craft vendors and animals, “we highly encourage them to come out.”

“We’re not the largest carnival; it’s just a small carnival we do for the local community,” Obrecht said. “We hope everyone comes out and enjoy themselves.”
