Ted Block, president of the Greater Tamaqua Industrial Development Enterprises, and William Gurian, chairman of the Board of Philip Gurian Sons, New York City, today announced negotiations have been completed for the purchase of an 88,000 square foot building in Tidewood Park West, Hometown.

The building was formerly occupied by Speedspace, Inc.

The building and approximately 31 acres of adjacent land will be utilized by the Gurian firm as a light manufacturing facility and a distribution and warehousing center.

The company, a recently acquired subsidiary of Puritan Fashions, makes women’s apparel primarily for major national chains such as J.C. Penny, W.T. Grant, Sears and Montgomery Ward.
