Denise A. Leibensperger is seeking the Republican nomination for mayor of Lansford Borough, launching a campaign centered on public safety, technological innovation and community collaboration.

“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for mayor, because I genuinely care about our Lansford community and its bright future,” Leibensperger said. “I want to create a space where everyone feels heard and valued.”

A longtime professional in public and private sector coordination, Leibensperger brings experience working with local, state and federal government, as well as leading Verizon Wireless’s government department in Pennsylvania.

She said this background gives her a unique understanding of how to use modern tools to strengthen public safety and empower law enforcement.

“In this ever-evolving world, technology can be a powerful ally in our fight against crime,” she said. “As your mayor, I will advocate for advanced surveillance systems and data-driven approaches to respond to criminal activity swiftly.”

Leibensperger said community policing, revitalized crime watch initiatives and regular public meetings would be key components of her administration’s public safety strategy.

“By fostering collaboration between residents and law enforcement, we can establish a strong foundation of trust and communication,” she said.

She also emphasized the importance of strengthening relationships through community events and open dialogue.

“I will prioritize police-community events where residents can engage with law enforcement in a friendly setting,” Leibensperger said. “These gatherings will strengthen our ties and provide a platform for celebrating our shared achievements.”

Leibensperger pledged an open-door policy, aiming to ensure that all residents feel included in borough decision-making.
