West Penn Township will celebrate the nation’s birthday with a bang.

The inaugural West Penn Township Independence Day Celebration — which will include fireworks — will be held from 6-9 p.m. July 5 at the J.E. Morgan Park on Cold Spring Road.

The event will be free; however, donations will be accepted for township fire, police and emergency medical responders. The rain date is July 6.

More information will be released as the event nears.
