Brock Bollinger was recently honored as a Wendy’s Athlete of the Month at Misericordia University for April.
The Palmerton graduate and senior baseball player for the Cougars shared the honor with Connor Bevan of the men’s lacrosse team.
Bollinger led his team to a 10-6 record during the month and the second seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament.
The former Blue Bomber hit .471 with seven doubles, one homer, 12 runs and 11 RBIs. He added 15 walks and had a .591 on-base percentage.
Bollinger also hit safely in 13 of 16 games and had eight multi-hit games.
For the season, he batted a team-high .423 while starting 41 games. Bollinger achieved team highs this spring with 19 doubles, two triples and six home runs while driving in a team-best 45 runs and scoring 54 times (second on the team). He also went 22-for-25 stealing bases, which was second-best on his team.
He posted more team highs in walks (29), on base percentage (.534) and slugging percentage (.698).
The Cougars finished the year with a 26-16 record, including a 14-7 mark in the conference.
Last year, Bollinger was named to the D3baseball.com All-Region IV First-Team and was named to the All-MAC Freedom First-Team.
