Lansford announces spring cleanup will begin on the east side of Lansford starting at Spring Garden Street on Saturday, and the west side of Lansford starting at Spring Garden on May 17.
All items must be placed curbside the night before the cleanup.
Items that will be accepted include: four total car or pickup truck tires up to 20 inches per household; 10 bags normal household trash; carpet; and bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers and stoves.
Items must be bagged; carpet should be cut into 4-foot sections and tied or bundled. Mattresses should be covered in plastic. Bags or bundles of garden refuse (leaves, grass clippings, bundled branches) should not to exceed 5 feet in length. Air conditioners, refrigerators or any other Freon bearing appliance must have the Freon removed and it must be tagged by a certified HVAC specialist or it will not be taken.
Items that will not be accepted are: tire rims; commercial tires; construction material; televisions, computers, printers, computer peripherals, electronics or appliances that contain chemicals; hazardous materials; paint; oil or gas; or any other chemicals.
