Collevechio seeks 2nd term in Lansford
Gwyneth A. Collevechio is seeking reelection on the Republican ticket for a second four-year term on Lansford Borough Council.
She currently serves as the chairwoman of the Parks and Recreation Committee and has been an active and dedicated member of the council.
During her first term, Collevechio focused on improving both the efficiency and security of borough operations.
Under Municipal Administration, she identified the need to better protect financial data.
“This led to a generous donation that allowed us to purchase a dedicated computer for borough financials,” she said. “Separating sensitive information from office staff systems has significantly improved data security and reduced the potential for outside interference.”
Collevechio works closely with office staff, frequently reviewing administrative procedures and offering recommendations for updates or corrections when needed.
As chairwoman of Parks and Recreation, she has coordinated the annual tree decoration project in Kennedy Park, held each December and January.
“This event is proudly supported by the Friends of Lansford Recreation and Lansford Borough,” she said.
Her leadership has also brought visible improvements to local parks.
Two new benches were recently installed in Ashton Park to enhance safety for children using the playground.
Additional plans include new fencing and further upgrades to the playground equipment as funding becomes available.
New basketball backboards and hoops have also been purchased for the East End playground and will be installed soon.
Thanks to a grant, 10 new trees were planted on the pool grounds, with mulch and topsoil added to support healthy growth.
“Safety and security remain my top priorities,” Collevechio emphasized. “I am committed to keeping our community safe and our borough protected so that we can continue to live, grow and thrive together.”
