Tamaqua police arrest accused drug dealer

Tamaqua police took a woman wanted by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office for drug dealing into custody on Wednesday morning.

The woman, Falon Muffley, 37, of Tamaqua, was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 cash bail.

According to police, officers spotted Muffley in the area of Pitt Street around 8 a.m. Knowing that she was wanted on a warrant for felony delivery of a controlled substance/methamphetamine, she was taken into custody without incident.

Muffley was arraigned before Tamaqua Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, and three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance. The charges stem from a Feb. 7 incident.

Muffley was unable to post bail and was taken to jail by representatives of the Attorney General’s Office.

“The Tamaqua Police Department remains committed to ensuring public safety and enforcing the law against illegal drug activity within the community,” Tamaqua Police Chief Michael Hobbs said.
