Church T-shirts
The orders for T-shirts of Mary Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, are due today at the parish office. Orders will not be accepted after today.
PVHS events
An Academic Fair at Pleasant Valley High School is slated for 6:30-7:30 p.m. tonight, followed by the high school Spring Band Concert at 7:30 p.m., both in the new auditorium.
Legion meeting
The West End Memorial American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Legion Hall.
OES meeting
The Monroe Chapter No. 99 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Rimrock Masonic Center in Stroudsburg.
The meeting will include the installation of officers.
WE Food Pantry

Flea market set
The Effort Women’s Group is hosting a Spring Flea Market from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Birding the Bog
Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center will host Birding the Bog programs on May 7 and May 14 beginning at 7 a.m. For more information, call the center at 570-629-3061, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and some Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Polk Historical Society
Saturday, at 11 a.m., the Polk Township Historical Society will meet at the archives building, located 104 Lodge Hall Road, Kresgeville.
After the meeting, a spring cleaning of the building and grounds will take place. An archive open house will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 18. All citizens interested in local history are invited. Anyone with questions can call Norm Burger at 610-681-7561.
Worship time
Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, hosts a worship service at 5 p.m. Saturdays, as well as Sundays at 8 a.m. also via Zoom, and 10:30 a.m. also via Facebook Live. A simple prerecorded spoken service is available on Facebook.
Sunday school is held at 9:15 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
Roast beef dinners
St. Peter’s UMC Saylorsburg will be serving a roast beef dinner Saturday, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Offered will be dine-in meals served family style or takeout meals. The complete meal features roast beef, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, roll, coleslaw and dessert.
Children under age 5 eat for free. Preordered takeouts are appreciated by calling 570-992-7311 and leaving callback information and number of dinners requested.
Meal pickup
For those who ordered a turkey takeout meal from Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, a reminder that the meals need to be picked up from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Block shoot, plus
The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding a block shoot & meat raffle on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m., at 122 Gun Club Lane in Saylorsburg. It is a 12-gauge shotgun event only.

QV annual dinner
The annual Quiet Valley membership dinner will be held Sunday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. It will include a program, business meeting of the membership and a silent auction featuring many farm-based items.

Real ID day
State Rep. Jack Rader reminds residents looking to get a Real ID that they can go to the Snydersville Driver License Center at 4218 Manor Drive from 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m., Monday.
Legion activities
The WE American Legion Post 927 will hold its open-to-the-public Bingo Nite on Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The West End Home Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Community Night
Monroe County’s Children’s Roundtable is holding a free 2025 Community Night event from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Northampton Community College-Pocono Campus, Tannersville, in Pocono Hall.
It will include free admission, workshops, children’s activities, resources and over 100 vendors.
OTOH meeting
Operation: Touch of Home has announced its next meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 13 at the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.
Bereavement group
St. Luke’ s Hospice offers a Brodheadsville Bereavement Group for adults at the Western Pocono Community Library.
The group is open to the public and is led by a St. Luke’s Hospice bereavement counselor. No preregistration is required.
The next meetings are at 1 p.m. on May 14 and June 25.

Showers program
Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center is offering an April Showers to May Flowers program on May 17 beginning at 10 a.m.
Weather permitting, staff will spend time hunting for flowers on Kettle Creek trails. There is a cost.

Flea market set
Folks are invited to sell or buy at St. Peter’s UMC’s Spring Flea Market on May 17. Rain date is May 24. The parking lot is highly visible on Route 115 in Saylorsburg.

Church vote set
The bylaws of St. Matthew’s ECC Church, Kunkletown, will have changes presented to the congregation for a vote on how to call a new pastor, immediately following the 9 a.m. worship service on May 18.
