Volunteers to pick up litter

More than 400 volunteers will celebrate Earth Day by removing trash from roadways across the Pocono Mountains as part of the Pick Up the Poconos Spring Cleanup, organized by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.

The Pick Up the Poconos Spring Cleanup is just one component of the PMVB’s “Pick Up the Poconos” campaign, which has resulted in nearly 46,000 bags of trash being picked up and properly disposed of.

Volunteers will be out from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The cleanup spans 20 locations throughout Wayne, Pike, Monroe and Carbon counties, including townships, boroughs, trails, parks and private communities.
