Lower Towamensing Supervisors

Lower Towamensing Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:

• Agreed to hire applicant No. 1 to work in the road maintenance department two to three days a week at the rate of $20 an hour, commencing as soon as the individual can start.

• Adopted the Portnoff agreement and ordinance pertaining to the delinquent garbage account. Since there were changes in the laws, the township needed to adopt a new ordinance with updated fees and also sign a new agreement.

• Adopted volunteer tax credit resolutions.

• Approved the tax collector’s request for reimbursement for supplies in the amount of $95.98, as well as reimbursement for postage in the amount of $75.76.

• Agreed to advertise for road material bids.

• Agreed to advertise for oil and chip bids.

• Agreed to send employee No. 43 to a chain saw safety class.

• Announced that electronic recycling events will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 17 and Oct. 23.
