Tamaqua Borough Council

Tamaqua Borough Council took the following action during its Tuesday meeting:

• Approved a request to send police Sgt. Thomas Rogers and Patrolman Andrew Seip to a Connect 2025 police software conference in Hershey at a cost of approximately $1,338.

• Hired Michaelene Trubilla and Jackie Nalesnik as full-time utility billing clerks.

• Accepted the resignation of Lori Patrick, utility billing clerk.

• Approved a request from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau to use borough hall as a polling place for the May 20 primary election and the Nov. 4 general election.

• Will advertise for part-time maintenance workers.

• Heard from Mayor Nathan Gerace that the police department put its new truck into service recently, and that the Tamaqua Fire Police are selling ducks for their annual Rubber Duck Race in June.

• Will have the borough road crew check the condition of the dirt road leading to the Rabbit Run Reservoir before the April 12 Children’s Fishing Derby.
