A Schuylkill County man is facing assault and harassment charges.

Gregory Scott Ward, 58, of Hunter Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with simple assault and harassment during an incident that occurred on April 21 at his residence.

Officers were dispatched to the scene where a victim said Ward slapped her in the face during a domestic dispute. Police found Ward hiding in the basement of the home. Ward claimed he tried to hit her but he missed.
