Tamaqua police log

Tamaqua police released information on the following cases:

• Police cited Alonni Murchinson, 23, Tamaqua, with public drunkenness following a disturbance on the 200 block of East Broad Street at 2:14 a.m. on Oct. 11.

According to police, officers were called to an argument and talked to a man who said he was helping Murchinson walk home because she was highly intoxicated. A verbal altercation started because Murchinson did not want to go home.

She was taken to her residence by police and charged.

• A Tamaqua man who passed out on a sidewalk near his home at 8:27 p.m. Oct. 13 was charged with public drunkenness by Tamaqua police.

Police received a report of a possibly intoxicated male on Cedar Street. Officers found the man, Pedro Grullon Lora, 45, passed out near his Center Street apartment.

Police awoke Lora and attempted to get him into his apartment but he was unable to stand and began yelling despite being told to calm down.

When police learned that Lora’s friend was not at the apartment, they took him to the police department. The friend later transported Lora to his home.
