A Lansford man faces multiple charges after trying to gain entry to a borough home last week.
Matthew Renaud, 34, who is listed as homeless, was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail following his arraignment by District Judge Beth Dodson Friday on charges of disorderly conduct, harassment and defiant trespass.
According to court papers, Lansford police were dispatched to the 800-block of East Patterson Street Oct. 17 after Renaud attempted to enter the home of his ex-girlfriend who has an active protection from abuse order against him.
Renaud had been picked up by police earlier in the day, but released to the hospital for a medical complaint, court papers said.
After being cleared, Renaud went back to his ex-girlfriend’s home, arrest papers said.
The woman’s son and others confronted Renaud, who picked up a metal pipe and started to swing it people, court papers said. He was taken down and restrained until police arrived and took him into custody, arrest papers said.
