Baseball parents club to host fundraiser

The Lehighton Indians High School Baseball Team’s Baseball Parents Club will host an event on Oct. 26.

Doors open at 11 a.m. at the Lehighton Recreation Center, 243 S. Eighth St.

The event will include a Cornhole Tournament, with bags flying at noon, and a Basket Raffle. There will also be a food stand.

The tournament, which will be run through the Coal Cracker Cornhole organization, will feature six games, with a guaranteed four rounds for seeding then a double elimination. The number of brackets will be based on the number of entries.

Interested parties may register online at https://app.scoreholio.com/v2/cornhole/player/findtournament and typing in ‘Lehighton’.

Participants may also register the day of the event. The event is bring-your-own chairs and alcoholic drinks.

In addition to the Cornhole Tournament, there will be a large Basket Raffle, open to the public. Participants do not need to be registered in the tournament to participate in the raffle.

The Baseball Parents Club will also raffle off three high value items. The baseball players will be pitching food, including barbecue sandwiches, halushki, chili, pierogies and baked goods.

The Basket Raffle and food stand will be open from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go toward supplementing the needs of the Lehighton Indians High School Baseball Team.
