The Little Free Library in Walnutport is now stocked with books for people to borrow.
Located alongside the Walnutport Canal, just past the Lockhouse, the cubicle has been there for the past eight years in memory of Candace McBride.
Her parents recently discovered it was empty.
Candace’s father, David, said, “My daughter was a writer and loved to read. She had a huge collection of books and wanted them to go to a small library if anything happened to her.
“So I built one. It’s a fairly large little library. It’s supposed to be to take a book, leave a book, not take all the books. We maintain it and put books in when its supply is low. It’s been there for eight years and it was going great,” David McBride said.
This year, for the third time in two months it was empty.
“Lots of people use it, so be respectful and don’t ruin it for other,” he requested.
