Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 3 with 25 members present. President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. A member read the invocation. One member was added to the sick list and two members celebrate birthdays in October.
Halloween items were chanced off. Two members were welcomed back. One member was thanked for taking canned goods donated by the Tamaqua Senior Citizens to church. Refreshments were served and the meeting closed. Bingo and cards were played.
The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone age 55 and older is invited.
Calvary Lewistown
Sunday school Rally Day will be held Sunday at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown.
Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. and the 10:30 worship service will include skits, music, puppets and videos for the Rally Day.
In the evening, the Kyle Roth family of Lebanon will be on hand at 6:30 p.m. Roth is pastor of Manbeck EC Church in Rock. The family will sing and play instruments as they praise Jesus.
The church said it will be a blessing and rewarding experience to see the family who serves God together come and join Calvary’s Rally Day. All are invited.
St. Peter’s - West Penn
The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn is at 9 a.m. with Joyous Noise. Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m. and Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m.
WASP meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and apple dumpling pickup is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 in the church social hall. The Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 followed by the Senior Choir at 7 p.m.
A Belgian waffle fundraiser will follow the Oct. 20 worship service.
Zion - Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
Howl-O-Ween Party
A Howl-O-Ween Party presented by Char-Wills German shepherd Rescue, 2 E. Railroad Ave., New Ringgold, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be hot food and bake sales, free popcorn, a fall photo shoot and basket raffle.
A canine costume contest will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Barn Sale
A barn sale with many items will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 E. Railroad Ave., New Ringgold. All proceeds will benefit Making It Pawsable and Char-Wills German shepherd Rescue. No early birds.
Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Oct. 8 with 37 members present.
The president opened the meeting with the invocation, “The Gift of Life.” One member was added to the sick list.
Carol Sedlock is celebrating a birthday this month.
A member won an autumn flower vase that was chanced off, and another won a turkey floral display. Refreshments were served.
For his anniversary, Sherry’s son is offering members a free ride to see Hershey Sweet Lights in early December. Members will stop to eat dinner on the way. Sign-ups will be held Oct. 22.
Bingo was played. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at Christ Church, Barnesville.
