Schuylkill County Court - sentencing

The following people were sentenced before judges in Schuylkill County Court recently:

Austin Dennis, 25, of Tamaqua, faces 40-80 years in jail after being found guilty in Schuylkill County Court on a variety of sex charges leveled by Tamaqua police in connection with an incident Jan. 1, 2018.

On the rape of a child, he was sentenced to 10-20 years in a state correctional facility.

He was also sentenced to 12 years and nine months to 27 years, to be served concurrently.

On another charge of the rape of a child, and two charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, he was sentenced to 10-20 years on each charge.

All of those sentences are to be served consecutively.

On two counts of corruption of minors and a charge of aggravated indecent assault of a minor, he was sentenced to 10-20 years, to be served concurrently.

On two charges of indecent exposure, he was sentenced to 3-24 months on each charge to be served concurrently.

Frank Nelson Miller, 48, of Coaldale, was sentenced to up to 12 months on a charge of terroristic threats made by Coaldale Borough Police in connection with an incident on Nov. 28, 2022.

He was also ordered to pay $400, plus the cost of prosecution.

Nelson was also sentenced to six months’ probation on a charge of unlawful killing of big game also leveled by Coaldale Police from an incident October’ 27, 2022.

He was also ordered to pay a total of $3,650 in fines, $1,000 on the unlawful killing of wildlife.

On two charges of killing outside of season, he was fined $1,000 on each charge.

He was also fined $500 on a charge of unlawful possession of wildlife, and another $150 fine on a charge of unlawful taking and possession of wildlife.
