An online group that was established in Tamaqua and has grown to include thousands of members worldwide recently participated in Sweatshirt of Hope 2024 in Souderton, Montgomery County.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren was among the 76 nonprofit organizations represented at the two-day event that raised awareness and support for individuals and families in need.
The local group, founded by Carmen McGlothlin of Tamaqua, is a Facebook community that offers help, advice and assistance to those who are raising their grandchildren. Members from as far away as Florida traveled to Sweatshirt of Hope.
“It was a fun-filled day with joy, laughter and meaningful connections,” McGlothlin said.
