CCTI board introduces science, English teachers

David Reinbold, Administrative Director of Carbon Career and Technical Institute introduced two new teachers to the Joint Operating Committee last week.

Larissa Genetti teaches science, anatomy and physiology, and biology 1.

Genetti is a CCTI graduate from the drafting and design department in 2016.

She attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology and Lehigh Carbon Community College, and received a Bachelor of English from University of Maryland Global Campus in 2023.

She is currently attending classes at DeSales University for a teaching license and a Master’s degree in education.

Genetti said one goal she has is to have more hands-on training.

“With CCTI being a technical institute, I feel hands-on learning is crucial; for not only these students, but all students. As we know, there is nothing better than learning by doing.”

Grace Crouthamel is an English teacher. She grew up in Jim Thorpe and graduated from Bennington College in Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in literature.

“As an English teacher, I believe it is a priority to prepare students for real world applications. especially, in areas such as digital literacy, communication, and critical thinking.”

Crouthamel is also attending classes at DeSales University and is working on getting her Master’s degree in education.
