Bowmanstown submits zoning for solar field

Bowmanstown will move forward with a zoning permit concerning solar panels in East Penn Township on borough property.

Borough council last week agreed to submit a zoning application for the solar panel field along Route 895, right after the last house on the left heading west, with the address of 1938 E. Lizard Creek Road.

The application is in the hands of the East Penn Township zoning officer.

Tunnel lighting

Council also last week approved a quote in the amount of $3,069 from Frable & Son Electrical Services to upgrade the tunnel lighting.

The measure was approved in terms of safety and to stop people from camping inside the tunnel.

In March 2022, a mural in the tunnel was vandalized and graffiti had returned under the tunnel where the Bowmanstown Area Residents Concerned hung the mural.
