Chestnuthill OKs 2 payments for road project
The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors approved payments numbers two and three to Miller Soil Solutions at their meeting Tuesday for the Rosebay Road project.
The payments, funded from a grant through the Monroe County Conservation District, were for $10,321.19 and $9,180.71, respectively. The project involved tarring and chipping Rosebay Road.
Other business included the following:
• Approval was given for attorney F. Andrew Wolf to file for an injunction against the Barns at Shallow Creek, at 610 Gilbert Road, which had been operating as an event venue without a permit and continued to do so after zoning violations.
• Eight Sun Valley lots and one additional lot that the township took ownership of after demolition of the previous structures were put out for bids. The township accepted bids on four: Apple Lane lot, $500; Bluegrass Lane lot, $200; 119 Storm Ave., $200; and 1129 Parish Park Road, $1,500.
• Authorization was made to allow Christosa Holding to start the process of vacating a portion of the cul-de-sac on Firehouse Lane for a planned car repair shop.
• Two change orders were approved for Bracy Construction for the new emergency services facility: an additional storm inlet and pipe, at a cost of $11,182.50; and stair gap and fill, at cost of $952.88.
• Payment number four for the salt shed, for $69,439.50, was approved for Kobalt Construction.
• An advertisement for bids was approved for the Esheveria property at 1796 Route 209. The township had bought the property years ago with plans to demolish the structure and sell the land, but that was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and a pipeline project. A motion was also approved to accept or reject any bid.
• The West End Fire Company reported 53 calls for the month of August.
The board decided that the Sept. 17 meeting would be canceled because there was nothing for the agenda. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
