Carbon County Commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:
• Approved a quote from GovConnection Inc. of Merrimack, New Hampshire, to purchase four Microsoft Surface Pro tablets and peripherals for the four magisterial district court offices at a total cost of $7,703.84. Of that, $6,135.49 will be covered by a AOPC Security grant.
• Approved two actions with regards to bridge 3, located along East Penn Street in Lehighton. The first was accepting a proposal from United Inspection Services of Jim Thorpe for the collection of concrete for core sampling at a cost of $2,600; the second was accepting a proposal from RJ Lee Group of Pittsburgh for testing of the concrete core sample at a cost of $2,433. The sample analysis will help determine if the bridge can be refurbished or if it needs a complete replacement.
• Approved a revision request for Community Development Block Grant year 2022 for Lehighton. The revision shifts $24,957.40 from the 135-139 N. First St., demolition project to North Main Lane street improvements.

• District attorney resignation: Emma L. Dacey of Coaldale, part-time legal secretary, effective Aug. 23.
