Tamaqua Area School Board conducted the following business last week:
• Accepted resignations from Randa Ray, high school Spanish teacher, effective Aug. 30; Krystal Fitzgerald, life skills support teacher at West Penn Elementary, effective Aug. 18.
• Approved the retirement of Carol Reigel, part-time paraprofessional, effective immediately.
• Hired Nicol D. Brito-Polanco of Tresckow, as a Spanish teacher at a salary of $45,298; Rebecca Hoffman of Barnesville and Melissa Gillette of Summit Hill, both as a special education teachers at a salary of $45,048; Janice Maher of Orwigsburg, elementary teacher at a salary of $49,921, and Courtney Tamagini of Tamaqua, as a guidance counselor at a salary of $53,439.
• Approved Frank Dickman as high school Extended Services Department chair for 2024-25 school year.
• Approved Ashley Morgan of Frackville as confidential secretary at a salary of $38,000.
