STATE POLICE AT FRACKVILLE

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incident:

• Police were called to a theft from a motor vehicle at 9:04 p.m. Aug. 21. on West Phillips Street in Coaldale.

A 31-year-old borough man told police the suspect was walking down the street, pulling on vehicle door handles, when he opened the driver’s side door of the man’s 2018 Dodge Ram truck and took a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE cellular phone valued at $800.

Police said an accomplice driving a dark-colored pickup truck helped the thief flee the scene.

• Police are investigating the theft of a 1997 Pequea utility trailer that occurred at the J.C. Hill Tree Farm, East Brunswick Township, between Aug. 15 and 17.

The stolen trailer was identified as being involved in the theft of two lawn mowers from the nearby Eckroth Brothers Farm Equipment on Aug. 17 at 3 a.m. The trailer was attached to an unidentified vehicle operated by a white male, police said.

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 10:20 a.m. Aug. 16 at a property on Florida Avenue in West Mahanoy Township.

A 30-year-old woman from Shenandoah told police her 2010 Honda Pilot was spray painted on the driver’s side and the driver’s side mirror was cracked between Aug. 15 and 16. She also found screws and nails under all of her tires.

Police said that criminal mischief is an ongoing issue in the neighborhood.

• Police are investigating a scattering rubbish incident they were called to at 11:56 a.m. Aug. 24 in a heavily wooded area along Valley Road in Walker Township.

It was determined someone dumped three queen-size mattresses, six garbage bags, a large reptile tank containing garbage, and miscellaneous items about one-half mile south of Rabbit Run Road.

Police said the dumping likely took place between 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and 4 p.m. Aug. 24.
