Pleasant Valley School District contracts

The Pleasant Valley School District approved making a payment to the architects of the high school renovations during the board’s meeting last week..

KCBA Architects in Center Valley was paid $266,260.62 from the capital reserve. The architecture firm is working with D’Huy Engineering Inc. in Bethlehem on the project. D’Huy is leading the project.

The school board also approved the following items from the business report:

• Administrative Service Agreement with Behavioral Health Associates to provide breakfast and lunch service through PVSD food service management company at the Polk Elementary School location as required by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.

• Payment from the Bond Fund to CH Consulting for professional services with a total of $33,586.36.

• Purchase of a new maintenance vehicle from Koch 33 Ford. Co-Stars contract not to exceed $102,000 for two new 2024 Ford Transit 250 Cargo rear wheel drive vehicles.

The board also approved the following contracts:

• Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 — Multiple associate teachers for direct, one-on-one services in various locations for the 2024-25 school year. Total costs shall not exceed $390,168;

• Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 — For online professional development for technology staff with CBT Nuggets Online Trained subscription for term from Aug. 29 to Aug. 29, 2025. Total cost is $554 per license for six licenses, not to excess $3,324.

• Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 and Pleasant Valley School District — Alternate and Regular Education Transportation contract for the 2024-25 school year. The cost is projected to be $3.13 per mile for each student transported.

• Super Heat — To search, identify and repair leaks in chiller 2 at the Pleasant Valley Intermediate School. Total cost is $13,800.36.

• Kimberly Walack, a federal programs consultant, with a term from July1 to June 30, 2025. Total cost is $20,000.

• Red Cross Shelter Updated Agreement — For the Pleasant Valley School District to be used as shelters and other service delivery sites for disaster victims. Red Cross will be permitted to use the facility to provide services during a disaster.

• Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency Pennsylvania Student Teacher Participation Agreement for the 2024-2025 School Year — the school district approves participating in the student teacher program.
