Police cite Tamaqua woman for trespassing

Tamaqua police charged Jeanmarie Steranka, 64, of Tamaqua, with defiant trespass following recent incidents at a Tamaqua medical practice.

According to police, a nurse reported to police that she saw Steranka lurking around the Pine Street property on the morning of Aug. 12.

The nurse said Steranka tried to hide herself behind a van.

A doctor also told police that he saw Steranka on Aug. 9 when she approached his vehicle around 5:30 a.m.

She asked to use his phone because she said her husband is a state trooper.

The doctor told her she could not use his phone and she walked to another side of the building and waited there.

Police said Steranka had been told about trespassing previously and violated the trespass order.
