The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the Northeast Extension (I-476) in Lehigh and Bucks County that a bridge replacement project will lead to an overnight road closure this weekend.
To allow for beams to be safely erected as part of the replacement of bridge NB-349 (Tilghman Street), the Northeast Extension is scheduled to be closed to northbound traffic on Sunday from midnight to 6 a.m. between the Quakertown (Exit 44) and Lehigh Valley (Exit 56) interchanges.
A suggested detour will be in place during the closure:
Route 663 North 3.3 miles
Route 309 North 9.3 miles
Interstate 78 West 6.3 miles
Route 309 North 1.0 miles
Route 22 West 1.1 miles
Re-enter at Lehigh Valley Interchange #5
Southbound traffic will not be impacted with this closure.
