Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Agreed to reject the tabled bid for low volume pave, Alley H and J.

• Awarded a new bid for the low volume pave, Alley H and J, in the amount of $84,403 to Bruce George Paving & Excavating Inc.

• Agreed to consider street opening permit for UGI Railroad Alley project.

• Councilman Richard Nothstein thanked the Palmerton High School football team for helping to put up flags around the borough park and veterans memorial.

• Announced the borough is accepting letters of interest from candidates to serve on the property maintenance appeals board.

• Granted approval of the request for fire police coverage for the Carbon County Fair.
