The Lehighton Police Department has upgraded its department’s phone systems.
The department posted Monday afternoon on its Facebook page that the department’s automated prompt system will allow callers to select the specific areas of the department they desire with ease.
According to the post, borough police Chief Troy Abelovsky said a “Tip-Line” has been created for the public to access.
Abelovsky said residents may remain anonymous and leave information for the department to review.
To access this “Tip-Line” directly, they may call 610-377-6519, or they can also access by choosing the prompt option #5 when calling the department main office number of 610-377-4003.
Abelovsky said the “Tip Line” is not monitored 24 hours a day. All callers requiring immediate police attention are directed to call “911.”
“The Lehighton Police Department does appreciate all information provided by our community,” Abelovsky said. “Please help us keep our town safer.”
