PSP Pocono - crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks have released the details of two crashes that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike as follows:

• Jared N. Matlis, 22, of Yardley, the driver of a 2012 Honda CRV, and Nicholas D. Morgan, 22, of Philadelphia, his passenger, sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:42 p.m. July 4 at the deceleration ramp of the Pocono Interchange.

Police said they were not transported from the scene but were treated by personnel from the White Haven Rescue Squad.

The crash occurred when Matlis was driving too fast around a curve, police said. The Honda struck an embankment and two road signs on the right side of the roadway and had to be towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:30 p.m. June 28 at mile marker 79.9 in Franklin Township.

It happened when Jaskaran Singh, 23, of Glen Oaks, New York, driving a 2023 Volvo northbound, sideswiped a 2011 Honda Accord driven by Jason J. Puza, 19, of Dallas, PA. Police said the Honda was towed from the scene.

They said Singh was cited for driving while his operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
