Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim of Calvary Church in Lewistown Valley will share a message of celebrating God’s grace and love of Christ in our hearts at the 10:30 a.m. service at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Rd., Tamaqua. Special music will be provided by the Gerbers. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.
There will be no Sunday evening service or July 10 prayer gathering.

St. Peter’s West Penn
The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn Township will be held at 9 a.m. with the sacrament of holy communion, and a presentation on the church organ. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.
Tuesday is the deadline for the August newsletter, and the prayer group meets at 6 p.m.
On July 10, the retirees will have a picnic at Miller’s Grove beginning at 9 a.m. weather permitting.
Christmas in July sale
Blessing Thrift ministry at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua is hosting its Christmas in July sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
Christmas items and summer clothing are featured along with household items, books and toys. A limited takeout kitchen menu is also available. Clothing: $20 per kitchen garbage bag.
Major credit/debit cards accepted. Sorry, no checks.
Zion is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets. To donate items, call 570-668-2180. Items left at the door are discarded.
Andreas VFW
The Andreas VFW will meet at 7 p.m. July 10 at West Penn Park.
The post will have a luncheon at Leiby’s Restaurant at 11 a.m. July 20. All paid up members and one guest are invited.
Luncheon
An “America the Beautiful” luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 16 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 101 Graeff St., Cressona.
Jean Bisnett of Chesapeake, Virginia, will speak about “The Best is Yet to Come” and special music will be provided by Makayla Scharadin of Port Carbon.
Attendees are asked to bring school supplies to donate to local schools, and a local teacher will share classroom stories.
There is a fee. The event is sponsored by the Pottsville Christian Women’s Club.
