The recent storms that hit our area brought down many tree branches in the Weissport Borough Park and along the streets around the park.
Borough Council had discussed at a previous meeting the need to trim the trees.
Council decided at the July 1 meeting that they needed to move ahead with that project and will look into renting a lift.
“We need to get rid of a lot of the dead branches before they fall on somebody,” Council President Tom Ketchledge said.
“We’ll go through the whole park like we did the last time, and cut out whatever is dead.”
One large tree branch landed on the wire cage that surrounds the newly-dedicated Liberty Tree in the park. The Liberty Tree was not damaged.
