TASB approves salary increases
The Tamaqua Area School Board approved the administrative salary schedule and non-contract salary schedule at its last meeting with no discussion.
Superintendent Raymond Kinder said late last week that there were increases over last year’s salaries, and the increases depended on an individual’s status.
Most of the increases factored in a cost of living adjustment as a base and some saw additional percentages based upon evaluations, contracts and/or special projects.
Salaries for 2024-25 the district’s top administrators and percent increase over the previous year are:
• Raymond Kinder, superintendent, $187,616.18, (6.13%).
• Stephen Toth, assistant superintendent, $160,607.12, (6.13%).
• Kenneth Dunkleberger, chief operations officer, $168,829.59, (7.13%).
• Connie Ligenza, business manager, $144,497.38, (7.13%).
• James Betz, special education director, $106,114.70, (5.13%).
• James Hahn, assistant special education director, $89,360.50, (5.13%).
• Tom McCabe, high school principal, $127,351.20, (5.13%).
• Lisa Shirvinski, assistant high school principal, $99,321.21, (5.13%).
• Chris Czapla, middle school principal, $123,411.03, (5.13%).
• Tara Bunchalk-Orefice, elementary principal, $105,574.74, (4.13%).
• Frank D’Angastino, assistant elementary principal, $90,893.14, (6.13%).
• Mike Hromyak, athletic director, $97,814.25, (5.13%).
Other administrative salaries for 2024-25 that the board approved include: Stacy Mika and Kelly Klimowitch, social workers, $61,080.12 and $58,055.59, respectively; Tracy Tomasura, psychologist, $95,384.76; Heather Metrick and Heather Bleiler, occupational therapists, $75,435.70 and $55,193.25, respectively; Charlie Petro, network administrator, $79,941.46; Michael Coogan, network tech, $72,674.06, and Kyle Dunkleberger, building and grounds superintendent, $65,049.90. All were 5.13% increases.
The board also set the salaries for confidential administrative assistants as follows: Tracey Stegemerten, $40,576.35; Joan Nowak, $68,056.65; Koren Connor, $39,423.75; Madelyn Coccio, $39,534.14; Debbie Yusella, $54,820.40, and Amy Quick, $40,890.06. All were 5.13% increases.
Hourly rates under the non-contract salary schedule include: health room assistants and substitutes, RN, $25.41, and LPN, $22.87; handicapped aides, $11.25; custodian, substitute, $12.41; equipment truck, $16.76; special needs driver, $15; paraprofessional substitute, $10.09; custodian summer crew, $10; school resource officer, $28.03, and SRO@, $29.22; clerical substitute, $11.26; cafeteria monitor, $11.38, and substitute cafeteria monitor, $10.75. All of these increases ranged between 4.1% and 4.17%.
