First Fridays event in Lansford set to begin this week

Lansford Alive is planning First Fridays for 2024, with the first one taking place tomorrow.

Some businesses have expressed interest in taking part again this year in order to promote their business and attract visitors to the town.

Lansford Alive began this promotion in 2017, bringing visitors from out of the area to town every Friday of the month throughout the summer months.

For two years during COVID, it was suspended, but returned in 2022 as First Fridays.

Over the years, the event has had quite a few restaurants and retail shops take part, offering discounts on merchandise and meals.

The town’s largest attraction is the No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum, and recommend for visitors to stop in at restaurants and shops following their tour of the mine.

For June, the Lansford Alive team has eight businesses confirmed to take part in the promotion. They are hoping to expand over the next few months and promote the events through the Carbon Chamber and the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau.

Businesses that wish to take part in the event for July, August or September can contact Lansford Alive through their Facebook page, email at lansfordalive@gmail.com, or 570-645-5711.
