Lansford Borough Council

Lansford Borough Council approved the following items this week:

• An amendment to the $33,362 gaming grant for the American Fire Co. of Lansford, changing the award from the purchase of five sets of turnout gear to the purchase of six mobile radios. The fire company will pay the $1,857 for the purchase.

• Work on the 2003 unmarked police vehicle at Krajcirik’s Automotive at a cost of $1,122.19. Work includes new front and rear brakes, rotors, oil change, new battery and inspection. The vehicle will be used by code enforcement, in addition to police.

• A change order on the borough garage site work contract with Dutchman Contracting to install 185 feet of drainage pipe and stone around the perimeter of the building and connecting a drain to the new storm sewer system at a cost of $19,005, covered by a grant.

• A contract with South East Solutions of Stallings, North Carolina, to remove unnecessary electrical wiring, electrical panels, switches, etc. from the train station at a cost of $11,000 to be covered by a grant. The borough also had a quote of $28,231 from Billitier Electric, which included disposing of scrap.
