An ordinance to regulate flow of traffic and establish no parking, as well as to prohibit truck traffic in certain locations is soon up for adoption in Walnutport.
Borough council on Thursday agreed to advertise for adoption an ordinance that calls for establishing no parking on the north side of Birch Street from Lincoln Avenue to Williams Street.
The ordinance also calls for no parking on the east side of Lehigh Gap Street from South Best Avenue to North Best Avenue.
In addition, it calls for no truck traffic except for local deliveries on North Railroad Street from Main Street to North Canal Street and back to Main Street.
The ordinance states:
• Parking is to be prohibited on the north side of Birch Street from the intersection of Birch Street and Lincoln Avenue to the intersection of Birch Street and Williams Avenue. The borough will erect the appropriate no parking signs.
• Parking is also to be prohibited on the east side of Lehigh Gap Street from the intersection of Lehigh Gap Street and South Best Avenue to the intersection of Lehigh Gap Street and North Best Avenue.
• There is to be no truck traffic except for local deliveries along North Railroad Street from the intersection of North Railroad Street and Main Street to the intersection of North Railroad Street and North Canal Street and looping back to the intersection of North Canal Street and Main Street.
Borough council is expected to adopt the ordinance when it meets at 7 p.m. June 13.
