Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met April 25 with 26 members present.

A trip to Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre is scheduled for May 21.

The group meets every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kim will share a message of peace and joy through Jesus Christ at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Calvary Evangelical UMC, Lewistown Valley. Special music will be provided. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. and the praise and word is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

There will be no prayer service on May 8, however, a cleanup will be held at the tabernacle. It will be followed by pizza.

St. Peters - West Penn

The Sunday schedule at St. Peter’s in West Penn: 9 a.m. worship service with the Sacrament of Holy Communion, 10:15 a.m. Sunday school, 10:30 a.m. confirmation class and 6 p.m. Girl Scout meeting. Zook’s meat pie orders are due.

The St. Peter’s Dinner Theater will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Confirmation class photos will be taken at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and retirees will meet Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Communion will be served. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

The next episode of “The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.

Thrift Sale

The Blessing Thrift ministry at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets, Tamaqua, is hosting its spring thrift sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Spring and summer clothing and household items are featured. A limited take-out kitchen menu is also available.

Major credit cards accepted but no checks are accepted.
